after two years attempting
to grown my very own morning glories
in my garden, i finally succeeded.

'grandpa ott' variety greeted me
with its first bloom early this morning.
amongst unseasonable cool rain and fog...
how excited i was!…

entwined with moonflower, whom finally
succeeded in its growth after
feeble attempts in years prior.
buds on them, too;
and their vines are now huge,
snaking its way across the
lattice of my front porch, stairs, and its railing.

'grandpa ott' truly is illuminated in its center!…
